Practice Overview

Ms. Oram-Smith has been a divorce Attorney in Virginia Beach, Virginia for over 20 years. She has practiced law for over twenty-three years and currently represents clients in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia in her Family Law practice located near the Town Center of Virginia Beach.

She served the community as a staff attorney with the Virginia Beach office of the Tidewater Legal Aid Society for four years prior to joining the firm of Sykes, Carnes, Bourdon &, Ahern, P.C. in 1993. 

Ms. Oram-Smith is certified by the Virginia Supreme Court to serve as Guardian ad Litem for children in custody and adoption cases and for individuals alleged to be incapacitated in guardianship/conservatorship cases. Having submitted drafts for legislative changes which were implemented allowing greater access to the Courts for custodial parents receiving services through the Division of Child Support Enforcement, Ms. Oram-Smith currently represents the Virginia Department of Child Support Enforcement as private counsel pursuant to a contract approved by the Attorney General of Virginia for establishment, enforcement and modification of child support obligations in the Southeastern District of Virginia.


Education

Ms. Oram-Smith graduated magna cum laude, Phi Kappa Phi, with a Bachelor of Science Degree from West Virginia University and her Law Degree from the West Virginia University School of Law.  She is admitted to practice before the Bar of Virginia; Supreme Court of Virginia, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Virginia and U.S. Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit.
